William Macaulay, M.D. is The Anne Youle Stein Professor or Orthopaedic Surgery at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Macaulay joined Columbia Orthopaedics in 1999 and has been Director of the Center for Hip and Knee Replacement (CHKR) at Columbia since 2001. Dr. Macaulay was named Advisory Dean of Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2005 and currently serves as Director of the CHKR Hip and Knee Adult Reconstruction Fellowship.
Dr. Macaulay graduated from Columbia's College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1992 and from the University of Pittsburgh’s orthopaedic surgery residency program in 1997. He is fellowship trained in Hip and Knee replacement, primary and revision surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
In addition to his clinical activities in a thriving regional, national and international practice, Dr. Macaulay is very active in medical student and resident teaching. He is currently conducting a variety of clinical and basic science research projects. The author of scores of scientific articles and book chapters, Dr. Macaulay is familiar with the latest minimally invasive, bone preserving and recuperation enhancing trends in hip and knee replacement surgery.

JEFFREY A. GELLER, M.D.
Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeon
Dr. Jeffrey Geller is an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons and is the Director of Minimally Invasive Joint Replacement surgery in the Center for Hip and Knee Replacement. Dr. Geller trained at the New Jersey Medical School and completed a fellowship at Harvard Medical School in Adult Joint Replacement and Reconstruction at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Geller specializes in arthritic disorders of the hip and knee. He has extensive training in joint replacements and performs surgery using some of the latest and most advanced minimally invasive techniques. These procedures include partial knee replacements, female specific knee replacements, hip resurfacing as well as minimally invasive hip and knee replacements. He performs both primary joint replacement surgery and revisions of failed joint replacements, but only after considering all non-operative treatment options. Dr. Geller also specializes in trauma of the lower extremity including hip fractures, fractures around joint replacements and fractures related to osteoporosis.
Dr. Geller is actively involved in orthopedic research and education. In addition to teaching medical students and residents, he lectures at national Orthopedic conferences and has authored many textbook chapters and medical articles. As a member of the Center for Hip and Knee Replacement at Columbia, he is currently conducting several large scale research projects in some of the most advanced and relevant topics in joint reconstruction.
Dr. Geller sees patients at the East 60th street office, the Englewood New Jersey office and in the Irving Pavilion on the Columbia Presbyterian main campus.

CHRISTOPHER S. AHMAD, M.D.
Dr. Christopher S. Ahmad is an Attending Orthopaedic Surgeon in the Center for Shoulder, Elbow and Sports Medicine at the New York Orthopaedic Hospital, and an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University. He joined Columbia Orthopaedics in 2001 and currently serves as Director of Pediatric and Adolescent Sports Medicine. His fellowship training in sports medicine at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic has included physician team coverage for many professional teams and universities.
Dr. Ahmad graduated from New York University School of Medicine in 1994 and from the New York Orthopaedic Hospital residency program in 1999. He is a certified Active Member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM).
His practice specializes in advanced arthroscopic surgical techniques for sports related injuries of the knee, shoulder, and elbow. He has special interest in shoulder instability, rotator cuff pathology, and ACL injuries. Dr. Ahmad has received the Frank E. Stinchfield Award for Excellence in Orthopaedic Surgery and numerous awards for outstanding research in the field of sports medicine. He is the author of numerous peer-reviewed research articles and, presently, serves as Director of Biomechanics Research in the department. He continues to perform research and educational activities on local, regional, and national levels while dedicating optimal care to his patients.

DAVID DIUGUID, M.D.
Dr. David Diuguid received his AB from Harvard College in 1975 and his MD from the Weill-Cornell University School of Medicine in 1979. He did his residency training in Internal Medicine at the Boston University Medical Center, where he served as chief resident from 1982-1983. He did his fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the New England Medical Center in Boston, where his work focused on the molecular basis of hemophilia B. After serving as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Tufts University School of Medicine for 3 years, he joined the faculty of the Department of Medicine at of the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Columbia University in 1990. He has served in varying positions during his time at Columbia, including as head of the Special Hematology and Hemostasis laboratories, Chief of the Coagulation service at the New York Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia Medical Center, interim chief of the Hematology division from 2005-2007, and currently as Section Head of Hematology in the Division of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Medicine. His focus is on non –malignant Hematology, with a special interest in coagulation disorders, especially congenital and acquired hypercoagulation disorders. He was recently selected to be the first Hope Sheridan Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Hematology of the Department of Medicine at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University.

DANIELLE LUDWIN, M.D.
Danielle Ludwin, M.D. is an assistant professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Division of Orthopedic and Regional Anesthesia at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Ludwin also serves as a member of the Acute Pain team. She graduated from Tulane University, magna cum laude and received her medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and completed an anesthesiology residency at Cornell-New York Hospital. Dr. Ludwin is fellowship trained in regional anesthesia from the Hospital for Special Surgery. She is the assistant director of the regional anesthesia fellowship at Columbia University.
